An excellent collection of Jerry Nolan`s post dolls work. The guy who made it sent it to me years ago (whom I`m pretty sure created the art work too) and before Jerry Nolan and the profilers was available, but its a pretty varied collection nonetheless. Another cool cover!

Hi Danny! Thanks for posting! Its a great collection! It took me ages but I managed to track down the Rockats albums after hearing Jerry play with them. I`m pretty sure I`ve them posted on the blog. Also, I`ve a couple of London Cowboys bootlegs that I`m going to post after xmas. Thanks for visiting the blog!

Hey There!
ReplyDeleteHUUUUGGGE fan of your site (and your YouTube channel!) and endlessly amazed at the sheer amount of historic and exciting material you've put up here.
I recently ripped through the Jerry Nolan bio, and afterward found this post, which is obvs a perfect companion piece to the book. Interesting how this comp includes projects that for whatever reason didn't get a mention in the book - like the Jimmy K-meets-The Heartbreakers "Fantasy Camp Band." That's probably (maybe?) a good book in its own right - Japanese superfan hires his heroes to re-make his favorite album with him singing! Wonder what those sessions were like, right? Did Johnny just milk him for every last yen, or did he actually look at it like a "real" record project?
Anyway! In light of my personal uncovering of this old (and essential!) post, I've taken the liberty of designing a simple hi-rez cover for this, plus re-EQ'ing and renaming the formerly "unknown" tracks. You can find my minor aesthetic addition to your hard work here:

Thanks again for continuing to create, curate, and maintain one of my favorite blogs of all time!!

I havent read the book on Jerry yet, but I will get round to it. I thought I had Jimi K`s album but I cant find it. A friend of mine has it and I`ll get a copy off him soon and get it up here. I reckon JT probably enjoyed Jimi`s fine yen. The album they made isnt great but its worth having on the shelf for those 10pm whisky moments just before the dead boys and the stooges take the stage in preparation for the dolls. If only everything else in life was as simple :)
DeleteThanks for the messages! They definitely add a bit of quality to the blog and for that, and your high praise I am eternally grateful. Thanks for taking the time!
Keep on rocking!!
