Hello
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your great work, here in France we are a lot not to have forget JT!!! Have been waiting so many hours for him....most of time for unforgetable souvenirs...Gil/Paris France
Congrats on an amazing run of posts - waaaayyyy more JT material than I've seen in one spot, that's for sure. And I appreciate how it's curated & presented without comment, leaving the listener to judge the value for themselves. Any dip past the dozen or so top-tier JT albums (bootleg + legit, including the NYD catalog) requires a certain kind of aesthetic appreciation, and its not always directly related to the clarity of the recording. For example: arguably the "best" live boot of the Grateful Dead (a band with whom JT shares a few characteristics, including onstage improv + popularity of bootlegs) is the SBD version of their show at Cornell on 05.08.1977, largely because it's been widely available for decades and the sound is top-notch. By comparison, the easiest-to-aquire JT live performance is probably the 1982 Heartbreakers reunion, and that's kind of meh in comparison with plenty of other shows - many of which have been posted here. Annnnnnnyway....I'm being way too long-winded and basically procrastinating on doing things that need to get done, so I'm gonna wrap this up with a sincere THANK YOU and I'll definitely keep coming back!!
ReplyDeleteHeySuchandsuch, Thanks for the comment! I`m really appreciating the comments! The crazy world of JT bootlegs is like the love you feel for that old denim jacket that doesn't quite fit anymore, but when it`s on you feel great! Happy new year!! LAMF
DeleteHi Gabby! Thanks for the comment! There`s an old online buddy of mine from France whom I haven't heard from in a while and has said the same thing over the years. Johnny Thunders clearly love France as much as France loved him! Its had to think of the words "Gibus Club" without also thinking of Johnny! Thanks for hanging out on this fine blog and all the best for the new year! Keep on Rocking! LAMF!!
